An unannounced new installment of Deus Ex has been canceled, along with layoffs at Embracer Group, according to Bloomberg

We are going through a month in which the video game industry is not going through a very favorable moment due to the thousands of people who have been laid off in various companies. Twitch, Riot Games and more recently Microsoft are among those who have had to say goodbye to a good part of their staff, but unfortunately the number has increased more on the side of Kissing Group .

As reported by the Bloomberg portal, the study laid off an unknown number of workers as part of an initiative to reduce costs. As of now, no details have been provided on this situation and the company itself has not made any statement on the matter. But the bad news doesn’t stop there.

Apparently, Eidos Montreal was working on a new video game in the Deus Ex saga, although its development has been canceled completely because of this same decision that was made internally. This new opus, which had not even been officially revealed, was to enter the production phase throughout this year, but the people who provided the information are not authorized to delve further into the subject.

The last titles in the series he worked on were Deus Ex: Human Revolution, released in 2011, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, released in 2016.
