a director of The Rings of Power assures that the second season will be much darker and daring

Even though the first season of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power did not meet with the expected success and the release date for the second season has not yet been announced, production continues to move forward. Galadriel’s adventures across Middle-earth will continue to be the focus of the series and the director has high expectations for the upcoming episodes.

In an interview with the German media MovieZine, the Swedish filmmaker Charlotte Brandström offered an interesting update on the second season, stating that it will be much darker and edgier than the first, with rawer moments and unexpected twists in the storyline.

“What I know and what I can say for sure is that it will be darker, edgier and more character-driven. I still think we have some very interesting episodes ahead of us. I’ve watched them everywhere at Christmas, just the cuts. I I think it’s going to be a very good season. We tried to make it more raw, a little dirtier, I guess. And not just in the image, also make it as authentic as possible. We also have a very surprising unexpected plot twist.”

Brändström, who participated in two episodes of the first season, will direct half of the episodes of the second. With the unexpected ending of the first season, it is expected that the plot will become darker after the events related to Sauron.

Although most of the episodes have been completed, Amazon Prime Video has yet to announce a specific premiere date or release a trailer, but the new season is expected to be available later this year or early next year.
