In a few months, it will be six years since the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2. Enough time has passed for most players to know the main secrets of its business mode and multiplayer mode. There Aberdeen Pig Farm This is probably one of the most repeated curiosities over the years, and it’s no wonder!
It was in August 2023 that I reminded you of the danger hidden in this farm and all the action possibilities that Rockstar Games was preparing for players. This is a practical publication, but it does not reveal the hidden secrets of the place. You can consider the last paragraph as an introduction, since this time I want to focus on tradition and its possible relationship with reality.
Aberdeen family secrets
Let no one blame you for not knowing the history of Aberdeen Pig Farm (Aberdeen Pig Farm) and Red Dead Redemption 2 . It doesn’t matter if your decision was to run away and/or kill the family living there and never return. This is definitely one of the least welcoming locations in the entire game.
It is located in the region of Scarlett Pres (Lemoyne), more precisely north of Pleasance and northeast of Lonnie’s Shack. Its proximity to Roanoke Ridge makes it isolated and intended to be discovered through active exploration. As we did so, we found a man and woman waiting on the porch. You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to set off all your danger alarms.
We already know how events will unfold if we accept his invitation to lunch. And if not, I recommend you take a look at the link in the second paragraph. What is really important here is the story of the Aberdeen family, the hosts of the farm.
Surveys of players over the years have revealed that they are hiding secrets far darker than we imagined. Beyond the proof that they are murderers, we are talking about two people who are cannibals and who practice incest. And the worst part is that the theories indicate that they are based on real events. We find the context of its history by exploring the house.
The hosts are Bray and Tammy Aberdeen, two brothers dedicated to luring travelers to poison, rob, and sometimes feed on them. A photo in his room shows the whole family: the father and mother with blurred faces and the brothers. Even though we don’t see them having a relationship, their treatment of each other is enough to suggest incest. “I love him like a husband,” Tammy shouts as she grabs him.
A white cupboard with blood on the floor reveals what happened to the parents: the couple killed them and kept some of their remains as souvenirs. The portraits in the house reveal a particular disdain for the father, while the mother still has some presence and it is assumed that her skull is the one found in the cupboard. Everything indicates that the incestuous relationship began at a very young age and that the parents never approved of it.
Two points are confirmed when we kill Bray and capture Tammy to take her to the well they use to dispose of the bodies. Firstly, the name “Aberdeen Pig Farm” is not intended for animals. Second, the woman still has some affection for her mother and regrets having killed her, which is how she expresses it when she is abandoned:
Please, no! Please. Not here, sorry! Mom ! I’m sorry, mom! Sorry…
Bray has no repentance dialogues and Tammy only addresses the mother, so we can conclude: the father was murdered because he was the head of the family and the main obstacle to their incestuous relationship, and the mother was a “death by extension” for both. Make sure no one gets between them. So there is some regret.
User Strange Man compiled these details into his video, including the most shocking fact of all: The Aberdeen family is believed to be modeled after the Bender family, also known as the Bloody Benders, Bloody Bender, or The Bloody Family. Although Rockstar Games has never officially confirmed it, the similarities are overwhelming… and not just in name.
To begin with, the dates almost coincide: Red Dead Redemption 2 It begins in 1899 after the Blackwater Massacre and the Bender family moved to Labette, Kansas in 1870 after the end of the American Civil War (1865). The number of members also matches: father (John Bender), mother (Elvira Bender), and two siblings (John, Jr. and Kate Bender).
The Benders are shrouded in mystery and there are many theories surrounding them: from the murder of the parents, to the marriage of the brothers, to whether they were actually a blood family. Some investigations showed that the family was a cover and the only relatives were the mother and daughter. It is interesting and well-known enough that Rockstar Games can take inspiration from it.
Regardless, the similarities don’t end there. The Bender family operated an inn between 1871 and 1873 and is credited with at least a dozen murders, although investigations indicate there may be more due to numerous unsolved beheading cases. Let the Aberdeens do it from a pig farm in Red Dead Redemption 2 Perhaps this is a result of Rockstar Games’ satirical style. Both families buried the victims on their property and robbed them.
