Porsche ajoute deux nouveaux hybrides à sa gamme de Panamera rechargeables

Porsche adds two new plug-in hybrids to its Panamera range

In an automotive world increasingly focused on sustainability without compromising on performance, Porsche is meeting the challenge by enriching its range of plug-in hybrid vehicles. The German firm, renowned for its sporting heritage and technological innovation, recently unveiled two new jewels in its electrified crown: the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. These models come in addition to the third generation of the Panamera introduced last year, marked by the arrival of the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid.

Through this expansion, Porsche is clearly signaling its intention to respond to growing demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles. Plug-in hybrids are growing in popularity as the pure electric vehicle market begins to show signs of stabilizing. However, these vehicles being Porsches, their acquisition represents a certain investment: the starting price of the 4 E-Hybrid is set at $117,495, while the 4S E-Hybrid starts at $128,795, destination charges included. For those wishing to pre-order, patience is required since deliveries are anticipated for the fall.

These additions to the Panamera lineup are no ordinary hybrids. The 4 E-Hybrid, for example, offers a powerful combination of a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and a hybrid system, resulting in a total power of 463 horsepower. This refined engineering allows it to achieve 0-60 mph acceleration in just 3.9 seconds. On the other hand, the 4S E-Hybrid, with a similar but slightly more efficient engine, puts out up to 536 horsepower, thus being able to achieve 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

At the heart of this feat is a 25.9 kWh battery, promising significantly greater capacity than previous generations and placing these models among the first in the plug-in hybrid class. With an integrated 11 kW charger, the battery can be recharged in just two hours in optimal conditions.

Navigating between fuel efficiency and performance is effortless with an E-Power mode, promoting an all-electric experience when starting up, before automatically switching to Hybrid Auto mode when necessary. This intelligent system adjusts energy consumption according to driving conditions, providing a dynamic response whether in town or on major roads.

In addition, Porsche is introducing innovative driving modes such as E-Hold and E-Charge, which respectively preserve the battery’s state of charge or recharge it while driving. Sport and Sport Plus modes adjust the battery charge level to optimize performance and longevity.

By continuing to expand its hybrid range, Porsche is demonstrating not only its commitment to a cleaner future, but also its desire to remain at the forefront of the automotive sector. With over a decade of experience in hybrids, including flagship models such as the Cayenne and Panamera, the company continues to lead the way in sustainable innovation.
