Have you chosen to use Zimbra, the webmail from Free? You have a good chance of quickly being confronted with an overloaded inbox. Indeed, you only have 1 GB of storage. That said, rest assured! We’ll give you a little tip to get an extra 9 GB.
Zimbra webmail Free: why 1 GB of storage?
Despite appearances, email services spend a lot of resources. The emails that we exchange are stored on servers belonging to the operator. Sending and receiving emails requires quite a lot of resources. Limiting the space allocated to each user allows the operator to protect its installations.
This limitation does not, however, prevent free subscribers from having a suitable webmail service. 1 GB is more than enough to store your daily emails. However, this space is not enough to receive attachments. At a time when high definition photos are favored and brands are massively using e-mailing, your inbox risks quickly becoming saturated.

How to go from 1 GB to 10 GB with your free webmail?
Free is fully aware that this gigabyte of data may well be insufficient. This is why the operator suggests a method to go from 1 to 10 GB. Please understand, however, that Free does not widely share this tip. The operator fears being a victim of its own success since making Zimbra more popular could ultimately cost it dearly in terms of resources.
To increase the storage capacity of your free webmail, go to your Subscriber Area. This can be accessed by clicking on the corresponding option located at the top right of the home page. After a page appears, enter your email address and not your username. All you have to do is enter your password to connect by clicking on connection.
After landing on the “management interface”, you must click on “Change Zimbra capacity to 10 GB”. This button is in the column on the left of the screen.
